Goodbye from Wunderlist
It's time to make the move to To Do

May 6, 2020

The time has come for us to say goodbye to Wunderlist. We want to share how we’ve been taking your feedback and adapting our new app, Microsoft To Do, with you in mind. First, we’ll give you some more details on what this shutdown means for you and your lists.

What does the Wunderlist shutdown mean for you?

From today:

  • You can import your lists from Wunderlist to the team’s new app, Microsoft To Do, until June 30th.

  • You can use the exporter to save your data as a .zip file.

  • You’ll no longer be able to download Wunderlist on any device.

  • Changes to lists or tasks will no longer sync across devices or between shared lists.

  • If you sign out of the app, you won’t be able to sign back in again.

Now’s the time to import your lists to To Do, available on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and web. We want to make sure your lists are saved and synced across all your devices. We’ve made it a snap to import your lists and have already moved almost 2 billion tasks to their new home in To Do. With hundreds of tasks imported each second, we’re experienced movers who will treat your precious shopping lists, daily routines, and collections with care. So - go ahead and get To Do!

We're listening to your feedback

We’ll continue to improve To Do, and we’re grateful for all your input. While we’ve brought over the most popular Wunderlist features, such as folders, subtasks, and file attachments, there are a number of features you told us you missed. We’ve been working hard over the past few months to bring these to To Do. In addition to a native Mac app, assignments in shared lists, and smart lists, we’ve added more background options so you can make To Do feel like home, all the way down to the wallpaper. Plus, with dark mode available on all mobile and desktop apps, To Do is even easier on the eyes. With our latest updates we’ve added six of your most requested features with more on the way.

You can now choose if you want to add a new task to the top or the bottom of a list, as well as automatically move your starred tasks to the top. You told us how important it was to have a physical copy of your lists, so printing is now available across all platforms. Completed tasks now show up on the bottom of your lists. We have iOS badge notifications, with a widget on the way. We’ve also added back the All and Completed smart lists. We’re working on improving our sharing so that you can share between personal and work accounts as well as between organizations.

As you can see, we've been working as hard as possible to make To Do your lists’ new home and to make your transition there as smooth as possible. We’ll continue to monitor feedback on features, and we’ll take that into consideration when planning updates.

You asked for updates to the Planned list, and we listened. The new Planned list – with today, tomorrow and week views – is rolling out now. It’s currently rolling out on Android, and coming soon to other platforms. We’d love to hear your feedback on it.

See what others have to say

We're responsive to your requests, and we’ll continue to improve the app based on your feedback. We’re making the move to To Do as seamless as possible. But don’t just take our word for it:

Thanks for everything

That’s it from us on the Wunderlist blog. We’ll no longer be posting updates here. We’re grateful for the past ten years, and we’re excited about what the future holds for To Do. Keep up to date with new features on To Do blog and keep talking to us over on Twitter or Facebook.
